Denia Chebli is a PhD candidate in Political Science at Pantheon Sorbonne University. Her research focuses on the political transformation of armed movements during the Malian civil war and the subsequent peace process. She carried out fieldwork in Mauritania, Algeria, Niger, Morocco and Mali. She was trained in documentary filmmaking in the Ateliers Varan and holds a MA in Social Anthropology at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS, Paris). In her master thesis, she focused on the formation of the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (MNLA) in Northern Mali.
